Dress Code takes an interest in the way breakdancing marks the bodies of dancers. It questions the "life style adopted" by this community as well as the reasons that lead to choosing the discipline.
This performance, created at the choreographic research laboratory at the company, ABIS, brings to the stage 4 Belgian boys and girls who are competitive but not professional, without stage experience. The creative process is intentionally very short (two weeks of work in the studio) to maintain the raw aspect of the performance and thus remain authentic to their practice.
Choreography: Julien Carlier / Performance: Jules Rozenwajn, Maria Theodorou, Shane Collins Jean, Dararith Keang Seng / Soundtrack: Simon Carlier.
Within the framework of the Laboratoire de recherche of the Abis Company, with the support of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Charleroi-danse, Grand studio, Centre culturel Jacques Franck, Centre culturel de Namur and Pianofabriek/City Lab.
